JaneMaree Maher is Professor in the Centre for Women’s Studies and Gender Research and joint Program Lead in the Gender & Family Violence: New Frameworks in Prevention in the School of Social Sciences at Monash University. JaneMaree’s research is focused in two key areas of gendered social science: gendered violences and women’s work and family. Her work in gendered violence focuses on how gender impacts on the operation of criminal justice and security. JaneMaree’s key interests are in family violence and gendered patterns. JaneMaree’s family work critically examines the interactions of families and societies, with an emphasis on how neo-liberal discourses of health and consumption impact on family relationships.
