Jo is an internationally recognised researcher on health responses to gender-based violence. Her research and teaching build on 20 years of social work practice experience in direct work, training and policy development. She is currently completing studies on the impacts of mother–child interventions after domestic violence, as well as interventions to address gendered violence in humanitarian settings. She regularly advises state and national governments on sexual and domestic violence. Jo has authored 88 research-related outputs, including 27 peer–reviewed journal articles, and as Chief Investigator obtained research funding of $A1.3m.
