President, Children’s Court of Victoria, Vic
Amanda was appointed President of the Children’s Court of Victoria in 2015. Prior to that she had 25 years’ legal experience, beginning her career as a solicitor with Slater and Gordon, before working as a Senior Associate at Maurice Blackburn. She held a Magistrate’s role for nine years, including as supervising Magistrate of the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria’s Sexual Offences List and Joint Supervising Magistrate of the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal. She was also a part-time Commissioner at the Victorian Law Reform Commission and has been a member of several committees across criminal justice issues, including family violence, sexual offences, victims of crime and child witnesses.
