Family Violence Principal Practitioner at the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services
Dr Anita Morris is the Family Violence Principal Practitioner at Department of Health and Human Services in Victoria. Through a practice lens she provides advice to government on implementation of key recommendations of the Royal Commission into Family Violence and leads reforms in family violence training for the child protection workforce. Dr Morris has a background in social work across health, education and the community sector and completed her PhD on children’s experiences of family violence at University of Melbourne in 2015. Her research interests include ethical approaches to researching with children experiencing family violence, implementing trauma informed care in paediatric health settings, and using technology to support children’s safety planning and communication when they are experiencing family violence.
