Will Milne is the Director of the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) National Centre for Crime and Justice Statistics (NCCJS). After 10 year in the building industry Will turned his attention to studying economics in Adelaide. Now with 20 years experience in the ABS, he has extensive experience in econometrics, economic statistics, the Australian Census and crime and justice statistics. During his four years as Director of the NCCJS, he and his team have worked closely with crime and justice agencies across Australia to facilitate the establishment of conceptual frameworks for the collection and compilation of family, domestic and sexual violence statistics. These, in turn, have been used to produce a suite of domestic violence related data from information contained in the justice agencies’ administrative systems. Will is also responsible for the Personal Safety Survey (PSS) data and development of PSS 2020.
