Kylie is a mum to a seven–year–old son. She was in a domestic violence relationship with her former partner, the father of her son, for 10 years. Kylie experienced severe physical and emotional abuse at the hands of her former partner, who attempted to take her life multiple times, and threatened to take the lives of their son and Kylie’s family on multiple occasions.

Kylie has worked with Child Safety and the Child Safety program WalkingWithDads, Queensland Police (Vulnerable Person’s Unit), PRADO (Partnership Response at Domestic Violence Occurrences) Project, the Centre against Domestic Abuse (CADA) and Save the Children’s women’s refuge. Kylie has used her experiences working with the different departments and organisations to speak at a number of events and push for changes to be made to stop domestic violence.
